St Hilda's Junior Church & Senior Group

Junior Church

St Hilda's Junior Church meets during term-time on Sunday mornings from 9.30 to 10.45 in the Hall for Worship, Singing, Memory work and Fun Activities. Currently there are 85 children aged from 3 to 15 years in six age groups led by teachers and helpers. Work done by the children is displayed in the Church in the Junior Church Corner.

The children are involved in planning and running some of the Family Services held on the first Sunday of each month at
9.30 am. These Services capture the imagination of the children who grow in confidence as they become more involved in a responsible way in the life and worship of the Community.

One major annual events is the Good Friday three-hour Activity Session from 12 until 3 pm  which including hot cross buns and a picnic lunch. The session ends with a Play and short Service to which parents are invited.

Imbuing our young people with the Good News is both fun and rewarding - new teachers and helpers are always welcome to join.

Bring and leave your children knowing that they are safe as you join the worship in the main church. If you want to help just say so.

All teachers and helpers are required to have CRB clearance to work with children and the Hall provides a safe and well supervised environment.

Senior Group

This is a pre-confirmation group working together as young adults learning about God and His Church. They meet during term-time on Sunday mornings from 9.30 to 10.45 in the Hall

St Hilda's Parent, Toddler & Baby Group

The Mother and Toddler Group meets on Wednesday mornings in the Hall. We provide a social contact for parents and fun activities for toddlers and babies. Activities include playdoh, iced biscuits, painting and, in the summer, a sand pit and playing with water as well as lots of 'craft' activities making things. Singing and dancing is also popular with the little ones as they learn to interact with each other.
We also do some fundraising for the Church and the Shooting Star appeal through raffles.
For more information about this happy group contact Jan Frost and Alison Garner

Bible Study Group

The group meets regularly on a Wednesday evening at Seaton Drive for Bible study and discussion. Members come from a number of Churches. The studies are led by different members of the group and focus on practical matters to do with living the Christian life in this place. Discussion is informal, and while everybody's contribution is welcome, no-one is forced to say anything. The study lasts about an hour and continues with tea/coffee and home-made biscuits which makes a good time for fellowship and social chat.

Visitors are most welcome - all that is needed is a Bible and a desire to learn more about what it says about the big and small issues that we all face in our daily lives. Contact Rosemary Greenwood for more information.
